I love scones. Especially when I get to use fresh fruit. Recently, I posted my Cream Scones with Blueberries. Last week my daughter brought us a box of beautiful peaches. How can you go wrong with peach scones? You can’t.
Begin with butter flour sugar and cream. Add your peaches and with flour on your hands and sprinkled over the dough, press lightly into about a 10-12 inch circle and cut into wedges before baking. Bake at 400* for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Drizzle with a glaze and slice. Enjoy!

Peach Scones
Ingredients
- 6 TblS soft butter
- 2 1/2 cups self-rising flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1-2 cups finely chopped peaches
- 1 cup cream
- * additional flour as needed
- Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 Tbls milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Cut butter into flour and sugar. Add cream and stir until mixed.
- Grease and flour a cookie sheet.
- Form dough (using additional flour as needed, if sticky,) into a 10-12 inch circle.
- Cut into wedges.
- Bake 400* until golden brown, about 15- 20 minutes
- Mix glaze ingredients and drizzle over baked scones. Cut into wedges. Enjoy!
