Tell Me the Story of Jesus

tell me the story of jesus

Want the Christmas Message in a nutshell?  “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.”   That was the voice of one crying in the wilderness, John the Baptist.  This baby, Jesus… the one we celebrate this week,  came to Earth for one reason only. To die for your sin and mine.

Before time began, God had a plan to redeem us…a plan to fix what Adam and Eve broke,  when they sinned.  A plan for mankind to renew our relationship with God, Himself.   God’s plan included a lamb.  Always a lamb. For thousands of years,  a lamb was  sacrificed for sin. But these lambs were just a shadow….a foretelling of God’s perfect plan.

One day…THE LAMB, the one all the other previous lambs had pointed to, would come. Make no mistake. It’s so important that God made sure we wouldn’t miss it.. He wanted to make sure you and I wouldn’t miss THE LAMB.

When God’s perfect timing arrived, His perfect Lamb was born,  exactly where  you’d think a Lamb would be born…in a stable. The Lamb of God…born in a stable.  Could God have made it more clear?

God’s perfect lamb died as a sacrifice for our sin. It’s the only reason Jesus came.

Jesus came to die. That’s the Christmas message in a nutshell.

He died once for all of us…all who would believe.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son….that whosoever believes in Him shall Not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

Whosoever means you and me. All who believe.

It’s the greatest Christmas gift of all time.  And it’s yours. And mine.

God’s not looking for perfect people. He wants people who will believe and trust in the one He sent. His son, Jesus.  Someone said “I can’t believe a loving God would send someone to hell.” He wouldn’t.  Sin and unbelief send people to hell.

God sent His son to save us.

This is the story of Jesus.

This precious baby boy chose to come to Earth to die for us.

The message of Jesus is that GOD LOVES YOU! He’s the father in the story of the prodigal son, waiting for us to come home to Him. Luke 15:11-32    He’s the Father waiting for us to give up our life of sin and run to Him.

He’s not waiting for you to ‘clean up your act.’  He wants us just as we are. We’ve got plenty of time to work on that…besides, without God’s help, we can’t change.  We need Him to straighten our life out.

This year, for Christmas, give God a gift. Give him your heart and believe in the One He sent.

I pray this Christmas that the Lord Bless you and Keep you and your loved ones, under the shelter of His wings, always. Psalm 91
